Why Was This Recall Issued?
The recalled products do not meet the labelling and child-resistant packaging requirements of the Consumer Chemicals and Containers Regulations, 2001, under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act. Without proper labelling and child-resistant packaging, there is a risk of unintentional exposure to the chemical contents, which could result in serious illness or injury, including death. As of June 25, 2026, the company had received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada related to these products.
Who Is Affected?
The affected products were distributed across Canada from 2015 through June 2026, with about 778,277 units sold during that period. The products were manufactured by IPS Corporation in Compton, California, and imported into Canada by IPEX Inc. of Ville St. Laurent, Quebec. Consumers who purchased these cement and primer products for household or DIY plumbing and venting projects may have the affected items in their possession.
