The Minneapolis, MN-based company announced the expanded action on August 28, 2026, warning that the radish mix may be contaminated with Shiga toxin-producing ‘Escherichia coli’ (STEC) or ‘Salmonella’ bacteria.

The recalled Robust Radish Mix was sold in 5oz cups and distributed between August 13, 2026 and August 26, 2026 to wholesale distributors and grocery stores in Minnesota and Wisconsin. As of the announcement, no illnesses tied to the radish mix had been reported to federal or state health agencies, though the company says it continues working with public health officials to trace the source of the potential contamination.

The expanded recall covers Everything Sprouts’ Robust Radish Mix, 5oz Cups, identified by Barcode 087906000075. Affected packages carry LOT numbers 223, 226, 230, and 233. Consumers are encouraged to check both the barcode and the lot number printed on the cup lid against these details before consuming or discarding the product.

What Triggered the Recall

The recall stems from the potential presence of Shiga toxin-producing ‘E. coli’ strains, including ‘E. coli O26:H11’, ‘E. coli O103:H25’, and ‘E. coli O168:H8’, as well as ‘Salmonella’ bacteria. Sprout products are inherently more vulnerable to bacterial contamination than many other fresh foods because the warm, humid conditions used to grow them can also favor pathogen growth, which is why regulators treat even a potential risk with urgency.

Distribution was limited to wholesale distributors and grocery retailers located in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
