Gas Release Risk Prompts VQQQ Natural Gas Patio Heaters Recall 2026

If you have a natural gas patio heater on your deck or patio, a malfunction in its components could release gas and lead to a fire or serious burns. That is the warning behind the recall of about 100 VQQQ Natural Gas Patio Heaters, announced by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) on October 22, 2026.

Core risk: Components on the recalled heaters can malfunction and release gas, posing a risk of serious injury or death from fire and burn hazards.

Recalled Products at a Glance

The recall covers VQQQ-branded natural gas patio heaters in two models: VQQQ-A1 and VQQQ-001. The heaters have a bronze pole with a round base and a silver mushroom-shaped top. Height is adjustable from 55 inches to 78 inches. A 24-foot-long gray gas hose is attached to the base of the heater.

The brand and model numbers are printed on the product’s purchase receipt, so owners who cannot find a label on the unit itself should check their order paperwork or confirmation.

What Triggered the Recall

According to the CPSC, components on the heaters can malfunction and cause gas to be released. Natural gas escaping from an appliance is a well-understood ignition danger. When it reaches a flame or heat source, it can result in fire, and anyone standing close to the heater could suffer serious burns.

No incidents or injuries have been reported so far. The recall is listed as a Fast Track recall, a CPSC process in which a firm works with the agency to announce a voluntary remedy quickly.

Who Should Be Concerned

The heaters were sold online at Amazon.com from July 2024 through August 2026 for about $346. The firm named in the recall is Shanxi Yuhe Sheng Maoyi Youxian Gongsi, doing business as VQQQ, of China. The heaters were also manufactured in China.

Anyone who bought a natural gas patio heater from VQQQ on Amazon during that window should check the brand and model number against the recall details. Because the heaters connect to a gas source through a long hose, owners of these units should treat the notice as urgent even though only about 100 units are involved.

What Consumers Need to Do Now

If you own one of the recalled heaters, the CPSC says to act right away. Follow these steps:

  • Stop using the recalled patio heater immediately.
  • Shut the valve at the portable gas source.
  • Disconnect the gas hose.
  • Contact VQQQ by email at vqqqrecall@163.com to request a full refund.
  • Write ‘Recalled’ in permanent marker on the heater’s base, then send a photo of the marked heater to vqqqrecall@163.com.
  • Dispose of the recalled product after the photo has been sent.

Keep your purchase receipt or Amazon order record. It shows the brand and model number and can help confirm that your heater is covered. Do not try to repair the heater or swap parts yourself, since the hazard involves gas release.

Federal law prohibits anyone from selling products that are subject to a voluntary recall undertaken in consultation with the CPSC. If you see one of these heaters listed for resale, you can report it to the agency.

From the Agency

In its notice, the CPSC tells consumers to stop using the heaters, shut off the gas supply, disconnect the hose and contact the company for a refund. The agency also confirms that the remedy is a full refund and that no injuries have been reported to date.

The CPSC encourages anyone who has experienced a problem with a product to report it on SaferProducts.gov. You can also reach the agency’s consumer hotline at 800-638-2772 (TTY 800-638-8270), staffed from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. ET.

Why Gas Appliance Recalls Deserve Attention

Patio heaters are often used in the cooler months, when people gather close to them outdoors. A fuel leak near guests, furniture or a wooden deck can turn a minor fault into a serious event very quickly. That is why regulators ask owners to stop using affected units at once instead of waiting for a replacement part or a convenient time to deal with it.

Even though the number of recalled units is small, the guidance is the same for every owner: confirm your model, shut off the gas, disconnect the hose and contact VQQQ. For further questions, email the company at vqqqrecall@163.com or consult the full recall notice on the CPSC website.
