The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced a recall of approximately 22,624 units of MiniWarGaming and Primal Horizon Disc Magnets due to a serious ingestion hazard. The high-powered disc magnets violate the mandatory federal safety standard for magnets, posing a deadly risk to children who may swallow them. The recall was issued on May 28, 2026, and covers products imported by MiniWarGaming Inc., doing business as MiniWarGaming Forge and Primal Horizon, of Ontario, Canada.

What Products Are Being Recalled?

This recall covers a wide range of silver disc magnets sold under two brand names: MiniWarGaming and Primal Horizon. The magnets measure between 1/16 inch to 1/2 inch wide and 1/32 inch to 3/32 inch high. MiniWarGaming disc magnets were sold in plastic bags and clamshells with no markings, while Primal Horizon disc magnets were sold in clamshells with size, quantity, and product code printed on the packaging.

  • MiniWarGaming SKUs: MWGMAG_116_132, MWGMAG_12_116, MWGMAG_14_116, MWGMAG_18_116, MWGMAG_316_116, MWGMAG_332_116, MWGMAG_38_116, MWGMAG_316_332, MWGMAG_14_332, MWGMAG_38_332, and MWGMAG_MEGA (various sizes)
  • Primal Horizon SKUs: PH10001 through PH10011, PH10201 through PH10204, PH10210, and PH10301

The products were manufactured in China and sold at independent hobby and game shops nationwide, as well as online at Forge.miniwargaming.com and Amazon.com from October 2022 through January 2026, for approximately $15.

Why Was This Recall Issued?

The disc magnets violate the mandatory federal safety standard for magnets because they are high-powered, fit within the CPSC small parts cylinder, and exceed the permitted magnetic flux index. This combination makes them especially dangerous if accidentally swallowed by children. When multiple high-powered magnets are ingested, they can attract one another or attract other metal objects through the walls of the digestive tract, causing severe internal damage including perforations, twisting, and blockages of the intestines, blood poisoning, and potentially death. No injuries or incidents have been reported at the time of this recall.

Who Is Affected?

Anyone who purchased MiniWarGaming or Primal Horizon Disc Magnets between October 2022 and January 2026 is affected by this recall. These products were popular among tabletop hobby and miniature wargaming communities. The primary risk is to young children in households where these magnets are present, as the small size makes them easy to accidentally ingest. Parents, guardians, and hobbyists who own these products should take immediate action.
