Burn Risk Prompts Gourmia Recall of 9-Slice Air Fryer Ovens
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a Gourmia air fryer oven recall on November 5, 2026, covering Gourmia Stainless Steel Digital 9 Slice Digital Air Fryer Ovens, model GTF7530. The glass doors can swing shut when bumped and burn the hands of someone reaching in for hot food. Owners should stop using the oven now and ask Gourmia for a free repair kit.

What Products Are Being Recalled?
Recall number 27-069 applies to a single model. The ovens are stainless steel, with two spring-loaded glass French doors across the front and metal handles on the doors.
Two places carry the identifying codes.
- Packaging: the model number and the UPC are printed on the box, according to the notice.
- Back of the unit: a label shows the model number along with a range of codes that the CPSC notice spells out.
If the box is long gone, the back label is the quicker check. The notice describes no other markings on the oven.

Why Was This Recall Issued?
According to the CPSC, the oven doors can close unexpectedly when someone bumps them, and the agency classes that as a burn hazard for anyone retrieving hot food.
Gourmia has received 57 reports of doors closing while people took food out. In 40 of those cases, the result was burns to hands or wrists.
Detail is thin beyond that. The notice gives no dates for the incidents, names no group at higher risk and does not say how long each oven had been in use.
The notice calls the doors spring-loaded. In general, a door that shuts with little force gives a person almost no time to pull a hand back, and the heated surfaces and cookware inside cause the injury. The notice does not explain how the added doorstop changes the way the doors move.
Who Is Affected?
About 175,951 ovens are covered. Target sold them at its stores nationwide and on Target.com from October 2021 through June 2026 for about $150.
Imports came through The Steelstone Group LLC, which does business as Gourmia, of Brooklyn, New York. The ovens were made in China.
Gifts and secondhand purchases are not addressed in the notice. Owners in that position should check the model label and contact Gourmia.

Checking Your Oven at Home
A short routine makes the check painless, and doing it with the oven cool avoids a second burn.
- Let the oven cool completely and unplug it.
- Slide it away from the wall carefully so the back panel is readable.
- Read the model number and codes on the label. A flashlight helps if the spot is dark.
- Photograph the label so you can read it out when you call Gourmia.
If Someone Was Burned
In general, medical guidance for a minor burn is to cool the skin under running water and avoid ice. Blisters, a burn over a large area, or any burn that limits movement of the hand should be seen by a doctor. Pharmacists can advise on over-the-counter care for minor burns.
Injuries tied to this oven can be reported to the CPSC, as the closing section explains.
While You Wait for the Kit
In general, an appliance you have stopped using is safest unplugged and stored where nobody will switch it on by mistake, such as a cupboard or garage shelf. Tell everyone in the household that the oven is out of service, including guests and anyone who borrows the kitchen.
If children use the kitchen, store the oven where they cannot reach the plug. A regular oven or stovetop can cover the cooking in the meantime, and oven mitts with long cuffs are a sensible habit with any hot appliance.
Common Questions
Will Gourmia refund the oven instead of repairing it?
The notice lists repair as the only remedy. It mentions no refund or replacement.
How long will the repair kit take to arrive?
The notice gives no delivery time. Ask the representative when you call or check the Gourmia recall page.
Do I need a receipt to get the kit?
The notice does not say whether proof of purchase is required.
Is the recall limited to Target purchases?
The notice names Target stores and Target.com as the sales channels. It does not say whether ovens reached buyers any other way.
What if my label codes fall outside the range?
The notice covers only the codes it lists and does not say what to do about a mismatch. Contact Gourmia to confirm before you resume using the oven.
Official Statement
The CPSC says federal law bars anyone from selling a product covered by a Commission-ordered recall, or by a voluntary recall carried out in consultation with the agency.
The agency also asks people to report a dangerous product or related injury at www.SaferProducts.gov, or by calling its hotline at 800-638-2772 (TTY 800-638-8270). The hotline hours are listed as 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. ET. CPSC describes its job as protecting the public from unreasonable risk of injury linked to thousands of types of consumer products.
