A space heater that overheats and ignites can start a fire or burn you. DREO is recalling about 338,800 DR-HSH015 space heaters sold in the United States, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission says, and you should stop using yours now and ask the company for a free replacement. This DREO space heater recall, number 27-054, also covers about 36,300 units sold in Canada.

Recalled Products at a Glance

Only some DR-HSH015 heaters are included, so the label matters. Here is what to look for:

  • Product: DREO space heaters, model DR-HSH015
  • Type: ceramic electric heater with a remote control
  • Look and size: black, about 11.5 inches wide and 13 inches tall
  • Manufacture dates: April 2025 through January 2026 only
  • Where to check: a label on the underside shows the manufacture date in YYYY/MM format and the model number, and the name DREO appears on the front
  • Made in: Vietnam
  • Importer: Hesung Innovation Corp, dba DREO, of Clifton, New Jersey
  • Units: about 338,800 in the U.S. and about 36,300 in Canada, roughly 375,100 in total

Flip the heater over and read the label. A DR-HSH015 made outside the April 2025 to January 2026 window is not part of this recall.

What Triggered the Recall

According to the CPSC notice, the heaters can overheat and ignite, which creates fire and burn hazards.

DREO has received 17 reports of heaters igniting. Three of those caused property damage, and one left a person with a burn injury to the hand.

The notice does not say what part of the heater fails or what sets off the overheating.

Who Should Be Concerned

If you bought a DREO heater from September 2025 through October 2026, check it. CPSC says the model was sold at Costco stores nationwide and online at Dreo.com, BestBuy.com, Kohls.com, Lowes.com, QVC.com, HomeDepot.com, B2BRenew.com and Costco.com. Prices ran between $70 and $110.

Gifts and heaters moved to a spare room count too. The notice does not name the Canadian retailers.

What Consumers Need to Do Now

  • Stop using the heater immediately and unplug it.
  • Confirm the model number and manufacture date on the underside label.
  • Contact DREO toll-free at 833-820-0887, 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday. You can also email spaceheater@realtimeresults.net, visit www.dreo.com and click ‘PRODUCT RECALLS’ at the top of the page, or go to www.recallrtr.com/spaceheater.
  • Follow DREO’s instructions to destroy the heater by cutting the electrical cord, then send the company a photo of it as directed.
  • Wait for the free replacement space heater from DREO.

Do not keep the old unit as a backup. CPSC adds that federal law bars anyone from selling a product covered by a recall like this one.

The notice says only units made from April 2025 through January 2026 are included. Check the label to see where yours falls, and contact DREO if the date is unclear.
