NTI and HTP Gas Boilers Recalled Over Fire and CO Hazards

A cracked condensate dish inside certain NTI and HTP gas boilers can let unburned gas collect in the sealed cabinet and ignite, according to the CPSC. Ariston is recalling the boilers, and owners should stop using them and contact the company for a free repair.

The NTI and HTP gas boilers recall was announced October 29, 2026, and carries CPSC recall number 27-051. Canada issued a recall in conjunction with it.

Products Affected by This Recall

Both brands are covered, but only specific models and serial number ranges.

  • NTI models: FTVN150, FTVN150C, FTVN199, FTVN199C, TFTN150 and TFTN199. These units are gray.
  • HTP models: EFTU-150WBN, EFTU-150WCN, EFTU-199WBN and EFTU-199WCN (Elite Fire Tube Ultra). These units are black.
  • Appearance: metal, rectangular boilers with NTI or HTP printed on the front.
  • Where to look: the serial number is on the rating plate on the left-hand side of the boiler.

Serial numbers decide whether a unit is included. The CPSC notice lists a range for each model, and several models have a second range in a different format. Compare your rating plate with the full table on the CPSC page.

The Reason Behind the Recall

The CPSC says the condensate dish inside the boiler can crack when ignition is delayed. Unburned gas then builds up inside the sealed cabinet. If that gas ignites, the front cover can suddenly come off, which brings a risk of serious injury or death from fire, carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning and impact.

Ariston has received 34 reports of the dish breaking.

Three of those reports involved the front cover detaching from the boiler. In one, a technician servicing the unit suffered a broken jaw.

Where Were These Products Sold?

Independent heating and plumbing contractors and wholesale distributors sold the boilers nationwide from May 2021 through July 2026. Prices ran from $3,200 to $7,700. The notice does not name individual retailers, so a contractor or distributor is the likely point of purchase.

The recall covers 4,726 units in the United States. Another 2,261 were sold in Canada, bringing the total to about 6,987. Ariston Canada Inc., formerly NTI Boilers Inc., manufactured the boilers in Canada. Ariston Thermo USA LLC of Providence, Rhode Island imported them.
