Health Canada, in a joint recall with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and TOMY International, Inc., has recalled Boon PIVOT Toddler Tower Kids Kitchen Step Stools due to a tip-over hazard. The recall covers over 107,000 units sold in gray and white across Canada and the United States between January 2023 and March 2026.

What Products Are Being Recalled?

The recall involves the Boon PIVOT Toddler Tower Kids Kitchen Step Stool, a folding step stool designed for children to use in the kitchen. The stool is sold in two colours with the following identifying details:

  • Gray: Models B11437, B11437A, B11437A1, B11437A2 – UPC 669028115679
  • White: Models B11578, B11578A, B11578A1, B11578ME – UPC 669028115785

The stools were manufactured in China and imported by TOMY International, Inc. of Oak Brook, Illinois.

Why Was This Recall Issued?

The recall was issued because the stool ‘may be unstable while in use, posing a tip-over hazard to users.’ As of July 9, 2026, no incidents or injuries had been reported in Canada. However, in the United States, TOMY has received 11 reports of the stools being unstable, though no injuries have been reported there either.

Who Is Affected?

The company reported that 2,033 units were sold in Canada and 105,391 units were sold in the United States. The affected products were sold from January 2023 through March 2026. Families with young children who use these step stools in the kitchen are directly affected, as the products’ intended audience includes children.

What Should You Do?

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled stool and contact TOMY International, Inc. for a repair kit. TOMY’s Consumer Care Team can be reached by telephone at 1-866-725-4407 between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. CT, Monday through Friday, by email at cs@tomy.com, or through the company’s dedicated recall website at recall.tomy.com/pivot. Consumers are reminded that the ‘Canada Consumer Product Safety Act’ prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold, or given away in Canada. Health Canada also encourages consumers to report any related health or safety incidents through its official Consumer Product Incident Report Form.
