What Triggered the Recall
According to the notice, the recalled space heaters can overheat and ignite, which creates both fire and burn hazards. A heater that runs for long periods in a home, often near furniture, bedding or curtains, can turn a malfunction into a serious emergency very quickly.
As of October 22, 2026, the company had received one reported incident in Canada, with no reports of injury. In the United States, DREO has received 16 reports of incidents, including one report of injury.
Where Were These Products Sold?
The affected heaters were sold from September 2025 to August 2026. They were manufactured in Vietnam. DREO Innovation Inc, based in Acton, Ontario, is listed as the importer in Canada. The distributor is Hesung Innovation Corp, doing business as DREO, based in Clifton, New Jersey, in the United States.
The notice does not list specific retailers or provinces. Anyone who owns a DREO heater should check the model number rather than rely on where it was bought.
What Consumers Need to Do Now
Health Canada’s advice is direct: stop using the recalled heater immediately. Then contact DREO to receive a free replacement space heater. Here is the sequence to follow:
- Unplug the heater and keep it out of use.
- Check the label on the underside for model DR-HSH015 and a manufacture date between 2025/04 and 2026/01.
- Contact DREO by telephone at 833-820-0887, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 6:00 pm E.T.
- You can also email spaceheater@realtimeresults.net or visit the company recall page at www.recallrtr.com/spaceheater.
- Request your free replacement space heater.
Health Canada also reminds consumers that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada. That means you should not pass the heater on to a friend, relative or second-hand buyer.
Regulatory Response
Health Canada says it would like consumers to report any health or safety incidents involving this product, or any other consumer product or cosmetic, through its Consumer Product Incident Report Form. Reports from the public help regulators spot patterns and decide whether further action is needed.
The recall is also posted on the OECD Global Portal on Product Recalls website, which lists consumer product recalls from many countries. The matching United States notice was issued by the US CPSC.
