Two specific items are covered under this notice. The first is Co-op Gold ‘Chicken Burgers’ sold in 904 g packages under UPC 0 57316 21795 0. Three separate best-before and lot code combinations are included: BB 2027-JN-18 LOT 100808, BB 2027-JL-02 LOT 101118, and BB 2027-JL-22 LOT 101600.

The second item is Co-op Gold ‘Maple & Brown Sugar Bacon Wrapped Chicken Bites’, sold in 360 g packages under UPC 0 57316 21861 2, with the code BB 2027-JN-03 LOT 100449.

Consumers should check both the UPC and the best-before/lot codes on any package in their freezer, since not every lot of these products is necessarily affected.

Why Was This Recall Issued?

The recall stems from an allergen labelling failure. Egg was present in the chicken products but was not declared anywhere on the packaging, which means shoppers with egg allergies had no way of knowing the ingredient was there.
