The recall covers the XO Poppy 5000 mAh Magsafe power bank across at least 30 distinct model/SKU codes, including PY-PBK5M-EY2, PY-PBK5M-CO4, PY-PBK5MH-T06, PBK5M-DB1, PY-PBK5MB-SLV, and PY-PBK5M-F12, among others. All versions share the same 5000 mAh lithium-ion battery and Magsafe-compatible design, and all were bundled with a USB-C cable. The units were manufactured in Vietnam by Truststone Group and imported for sale by TJX Canada.

Why Was This Recall Issued?

According to Health Canada, the lithium-ion battery inside the power bank ‘may overheat and melt at the port while charging,’ creating fire and burn hazards for users. Lithium-ion batteries that overheat can swell, melt surrounding plastic components, or in more serious cases ignite, putting nearby property and users at risk during routine charging.

As of August 11, 2026, the company reported no incidents or injuries linked to the product in Canada. Still, the potential severity of a battery fire prompted the voluntary recall before any reported harm occurred.
