The recall covers LED Light Bars and complete LED Light Kits, which typically include two light bars, a wiring harness, a metal mounting plate, and, depending on configuration, a light switch. The light bars were also available for purchase separately from the full kit, so owners who added only replacement bars to an existing setup are included in the recall as well.

Who Is Affected?

The recall applies to owners of Hustler and BigDog mowing equipment fitted with the affected LED Light Kits or standalone Light Bars, purchased through authorized dealers in Canada or the United States between July 2020 and July 2026. The products were manufactured in China and distributed by Excel Industries, LLC, based in Hesston, Kansas. Given the relatively small number of units involved, not every mower owner will be affected, but anyone who added supplemental lighting to a Hustler or BigDog ride-on unit in that window should check their equipment.

• Immediately stop using the LED Light Bars and unplug them to eliminate the hazard.
• Contact the point-of-sale dealer where the kit or light bar was purchased.
• Have the dealer uninstall the LED Light Kit and destroy the light bars free of charge.
