The recall covers 10-lb. cardboard box cases containing ‘Fontanini PORK SAUSAGE LINKS’ with ‘ITEM 393’ printed on the box and ‘PACKED ON 06/23/2026’ printed on the shipping label. The products were produced on June 23, 2026. Each affected box bears establishment number ‘EST. 6944’ inside the USDA mark of inspection printed on the box.

Why Was This Recall Issued?

The problem was discovered after the firm received two customer complaints regarding clear, hard plastic found in the sausage product. FSIS classified this as a High, Class I recall due to the potential for consumers to be exposed to a physical hazard if the contaminated product is consumed.
