Shanghai Ravioli Corp Recalls Buffalo Chicken Products Over Inspection Failure 2026

Shanghai Ravioli Corporation, based in Boston, Mass., is recalling approximately 24,900 pounds of frozen, not ready-to-eat (NRTE) Buffalo chicken products after the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) determined the items were produced without the benefit of federal inspection. The recall was announced on Aug. 26, 2026, and is classified as a Class I high-risk recall.

What Products Are Being Recalled?

The recall covers frozen NRTE Buffalo chicken products produced on various dates from July 8, 2025, to June 29, 2026. The affected products include:

• Cardboard boxes containing 100 pieces of ‘BUFFALO CHICKEN RANGOON’ with ‘Sell By’ dates from July 8, 2026, to June 29, 2027
• Cardboard boxes containing 120 pieces of ‘BENEDETTO’S BUFFALO CHICKEN MOZZARELLA STICK’ with ‘Sell By’ dates from July 8, 2026, to June 29, 2027

All recalled products bear a false mark of inspection using establishment number ‘EST. 18004’, which does not hold a federal grant of inspection.

Why Was This Recall Issued?

The issue was discovered during routine FSIS surveillance activities, which revealed the products were produced without the benefit of inspection. Food produced outside of federal inspection oversight may contain undeclared allergens, harmful bacteria, or other contaminants that pose a risk to consumer health and safety. There have been no confirmed reports of illness or injury linked to consumption of these products as of the announcement date.

Who Is Affected?

The recalled products were shipped to foodservice locations in Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont. FSIS is concerned that some of the affected product may still be sitting in foodservice refrigerators or freezers in these states.

What Should You Do?

Foodservice locations that purchased these products are urged not to serve them. Any recalled product should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase. FSIS will conduct recall effectiveness checks to confirm the recalling firm has notified its customers and that the product is no longer available.
