Fi Recalls Dog Supplements Over Possible Salmonella Contamination 2026

A possible Salmonella contamination in an ingredient supplied to its manufacturer has prompted Fi, based in New York, NY, to recall two of its dog supplement products. The company, operated by Vet Plus, Inc., announced the recall on September 3, 2026, and the FDA published the notice on September 8, 2026, out of what Fi describes as an abundance of caution.

Salmonella poses a risk not just to the dogs who consume contaminated supplements but also to the humans who handle the products or clean up after affected pets. The manufacturer has suspended production of the ingredient in question while it investigates, and Fi says it is contacting affected customers directly.

Recalled Products at a Glance

Two Fi-branded supplement products, sold in 180 gram containers, are included in this recall. Consumers should check the lot number printed on their product against the list below before deciding whether to keep using it.

The recalled supplements were sold directly to consumers through Fi’s own channels, as well as through online retailers Amazon and Chewy.com, giving the recall a wide, largely e-commerce-driven footprint.

What Went Wrong?

According to the company’s announcement, the potential contamination stems from an ingredient supplied to Fi’s manufacturer rather than an issue with the finished formulation itself. That ingredient is now under investigation, and production has been paused as a precaution while the source of the problem is confirmed.

Who Should Be Concerned

If you or a family member handles pet supplements, or if your dog has recently eaten either of the two products listed above, this recall is worth your attention. Salmonella can spread from contaminated products to surfaces, hands, and eventually to people, particularly if hands are not washed thoroughly after contact with the product or with an infected pet’s waste.

In people, symptoms can include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, abdominal cramping, and fever. In rare cases, infections can lead to more serious complications such as arterial infections, endocarditis, arthritis, or urinary tract symptoms. Dogs that have ingested contaminated product may show lethargy, diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, fever, vomiting, or in milder cases, simply a reduced appetite. Some infected animals show no obvious symptoms at all but can still spread the bacteria to other pets or people.

What Consumers Need to Do Now

Fi is asking anyone who purchased either the Calming supplement or the 8-in-1 Formula supplement, in the lot numbers listed above, to stop feeding it to their dog immediately. The product should be sealed tightly in its original container and thrown away rather than returned to a store.

Pet owners who notice symptoms of Salmonella infection in their dog after use of these products should contact their veterinarian right away. Anyone experiencing symptoms themselves after handling the product should reach out to their own healthcare provider.
