Daoen Recalls Zen Magnetic Promotional Ball Sets Due to Ingestion Risk 2026

Daoen Inc., of City of Industry, California, has issued a recall for approximately 1,000 units of Zen Fidget Magnetic Ball Sets due to a serious magnet ingestion hazard. The recall, announced on May 28, 2026, was issued because the products violate the mandatory federal safety standard for toys. The fidget ball sets were distributed as promotional free items and pose a risk of serious injury or death to children if the magnets are swallowed.

What Products Are Being Recalled?

The recall involves Zen Fidget Magnetic Ball Sets, a fidget toy consisting of four textured, silicone magnetic balls in silver, light brown, tan, and bronze colors. Each ball measures approximately 1.24 inches in diameter. The sets come in a round, zippered carrying case, which may or may not feature a white Gordon Sinclair logo printed on it. The products were not sold through retail stores but were distributed as promotional free items to consumers between December 2025 and February 2026 by distributors Ensora Health of Birmingham, Alabama and Gordon Sinclair of Valley Stream, New York. The magnetic balls were manufactured in China.

Why Was This Recall Issued?

The recalled magnetic balls violate the mandatory federal standard for toys because they are loose, high-powered magnets. High-powered magnets present a severe ingestion hazard, particularly for young children. If more than one magnet is swallowed, or if a magnet is swallowed along with another metal object, the magnets can attract each other through the walls of the intestines. This attraction can cause the intestines to become perforated, twisted, or blocked, and can lead to blood poisoning and death. The CPSC has emphasized that no incidents or injuries have been reported in connection with this specific product to date, but the hazard profile is considered critical given the potential for fatal outcomes.

Who Is Affected?

This recall affects consumers who received the Zen Fidget Magnetic Ball Sets as free promotional items distributed by Ensora Health or Gordon Sinclair between December 2025 and February 2026. The hazard is most acute for households with children, as young children are most at risk of accidentally ingesting the small, high-powered magnetic balls. Parents and caregivers who received these items as part of a promotion should check their home immediately. About 1,000 units are included in the recall.

Official Statement

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, consumers should stop using the recalled magnet ball toys immediately, take them away from children and dispose of them. The CPSC reminds consumers that federal law prohibits any person from selling products subject to a Commission-ordered recall or a voluntary recall undertaken in consultation with the CPSC. The Commission continues to monitor the marketplace for high-powered magnet products that fail to meet mandatory safety standards, and urges consumers to remain vigilant about magnet-containing toys in their homes.
