Bada Boom Fireworks has issued a voluntary recall of approximately 1,060 units of the Pyro Diablo Diablo Rising 9 Shots fireworks device in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The recalled fireworks violate the federal ban on aerial fireworks devices intended to produce audible effects, posing deadly explosion and burn hazards to consumers.

What Products Are Being Recalled?

The recall covers the Pyro Diablo branded ‘Diablo Rising’ 9 Shots fireworks device, model number PD-C5001. The packaging is easily identifiable by an orange dragon illustration set against a blue and purple background. The brand name, product name, item number, and warning labels appear on the top and front of the package. The product was manufactured in China and imported by Bada Boom Fireworks of Blakeslee, Pennsylvania.

Why Was This Recall Issued?

The recalled fireworks violate the federal ban on aerial fireworks devices intended to produce audible effects. Specifically, the pyrotechnic composition inside each device exceeds the legally permitted federal limit. Overloaded fireworks can result in a greater-than-expected explosion, placing users and bystanders at serious risk of severe burns and fatal injuries. Although no incidents or injuries have been reported to date, the CPSC determined the risk to be severe enough to warrant an immediate recall.

Who Is Affected?

Consumers who purchased the Pyro Diablo ‘Diablo Rising’ 9 Shots fireworks device from Bada Boom Fireworks retail locations in Pennsylvania between March 2026 and May 2026 are affected by this recall. The product was sold for approximately $45 per unit. Around 1,060 units were sold to the public before the recall was initiated.
