Peter Rabbit Organics Fruit Puree Pouches Recalled Over Plastic Contamination

PT Organics Limited of Lake Oswego, Oregon is voluntarily recalling select Pumpkin Tree Peter Rabbit Organics Banana & Strawberry 4 oz. (113 g) fruit puree pouches after discovering that a strand of soft, food-grade plastic may be present inside a small number of finished pouches. The affected product was sold nationwide at Kroger, Meijer, and Target stores between March 6, 2026 and July 13, 2026.

• Lane number ‘4’ printed on the rear right-hand side seam
• Best-Before-Dates: 01/19/2027, 01/20/2027, 03/17/2027, 03/18/2027, 05/14/2027, or 05/15/2027

No other Pumpkin Tree branded products, flavors, or best-before-dates are included in this recall.

Why Was This Recall Issued?

The recall was triggered after PT Organics’ packaging supplier recalled a production run of defective pouches. Follow-up inspections by PT Organics on finished product made with the recalled packaging confirmed that a strand of soft, food-grade plastic had become attached to the inside of a small number of pouches. If ingested, foreign plastic material inside a food pouch can pose a choking hazard or cause injury, particularly for infants and young children who are the primary consumers of this product.

Who Is Affected?

Consumers who purchased ‘Pumpkin Tree Peter Rabbit Organics’ Banana & Strawberry fruit puree pouches at Kroger, Meijer, or Target between early March and mid-July 2026 may be affected. As of the recall announcement, no injuries have been reported in connection with the affected product.
