Why Was This Recall Issued?
The recall was initiated after Sun Noodle received a consumer inquiry noting that the soup base included in a kit did not match the Sura Tanmen product. An internal investigation confirmed that a soba sauce containing fish was mistakenly packed into Sura Tanmen kits instead of the correct soup base. Fish is not declared as an allergen on the Sura Tanmen packaging, which creates a serious risk for consumers with fish allergies. The issue was traced to a single production run, which has since been corrected, and the company has reviewed subsequent production lots to confirm they contain the correct soup base.
