Synear Foods USA, LLC, a Chatsworth, California establishment, is recalling approximately 71,603 pounds of frozen not-ready-to-eat pork and crab soup dumpling products due to misbranding and undeclared allergens. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced the recall on May 31, 2026. The affected products contain peanut, a known allergen, which is not declared on the product label — posing a serious health risk to individuals with peanut allergies.
What Products Are Being Recalled?
The following frozen soup dumpling products are subject to this recall. All were produced between October 15, 2025, and February 23, 2026:
- 13.23-oz. plastic bag packages labeled ‘Synear SUPREME SOUP DUMPLING PORK & CRAB’ with ‘BEST BY’ dates of 15 OCT 2026, 10 NOV 2026, 23 DEC 2026, 26 JAN 2027, or 23 FEB 2027.
- 375-g. plastic bag packages labeled ‘Synear SUPREME SOUP DUMPLING DUMPLINGS A LA SOUPE SUPREME PORK & CRAB PORC ET CRABE’ with ‘Product of USA/Produit des E.-U’ and best by dates of 2026 OC 15 or 2027 JA 26.
All recalled products bear establishment number ‘EST. 45942’ inside the USDA mark of inspection.
Why Was This Recall Issued?
The recall was triggered after FSIS inspection personnel identified the issue during a routine allergen verification task. Investigators found that the soup dumplings were formulated with peanut oil; however, peanuts were not declared anywhere on the finished product label. The establishment subsequently determined that a formulation change had led to the mislabeling. As a result, consumers — particularly those with peanut allergies — had no way of knowing that peanuts were present in the product. This constitutes a Class I recall, meaning there is a reasonable probability that consuming the product could cause serious adverse health consequences.

Who Is Affected?
These products were shipped to retail locations in California, New Jersey, and Washington. The products were also exported to Canada. FSIS has expressed concern that some recalled product may still be in consumers’ home freezers. As of the announcement date, there have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. However, individuals with peanut allergies or sensitivities are at significant risk if these products are consumed unknowingly.
